1930's style door with modern flair

Featuring a double-glazed stained glass panel, protruding decorative shelf mound under the glass and tradition style ironmongery. Externally this door is a real head-turner but what makes it extra special is this door is a SMART door.

Set to open with a swipe of your phone, when it senses you are leaving or arriving home, there really is no need to struggle with keys and shopping bags again!

The Ultion SMART lock is police-approved. Awarded the TS007 3*Kitemark which indicates the highest standard for resistance against snapping by the Master Locksmiths Association. It has been tried and tested. It has a reputation for ease of use and functionality that far surpass other smart locks on the market.

Functional and fun, this project has been a real pleasure to work on.

We had an absolutely incredible experience from design to installation of our 1930's bespoke front door.

We approached Powell with some early ideas and they handled everything from there on. One special consideration for us was the design of the stained glass, which we needed to match the original 1930's glass next to the door. Initially, we were expecting to have to do this separately, but Powell were able to do this as one entire package.

Additionally, we were able to add a 'smart lock' to the door, using our iPhone's to open and lock! This is great for our kids, but we have a key for when the grandparents (who aren't too confident with technology) need to access our house, too!

We worked closely with Nat and Vicki who were amazing throughout. Nat visited our house early in the process to measure the opening, which wasn't a straight forward shape or fit, however his attention to detail meant the door fitted perfectly on delivery! Vicki constantly kept us updated and informed throughout the cycle, including helping us make the important decisions relating to design detail and colour! Although we didn't get to meet the entire team, you can see from our door that a great deal of skill and affection has gone into it.

The door is amazing. In the short 4 weeks since it has been installed, we've had neighbours, delivery drivers, the postman, the milkman and friends all comment on how fantastic it looks. Most notably, people say 'I haven't seen that door anywhere before' - which is exactly what we wanted! In a world of mass production, we are delighted that we paid the extra money for unique, high quality and period fitting door that suits the house and our personality. Although our first project with Powell so far, it will certainly be the first of many!
